Glucosamine levels to low in dry food?

Im leaning towards the acana only because it dosnt contain pork of any kind. The one time lace got any amount of pork she had diharrea really reallly bad. She was going out every ten mintues and was only relaseing a bloody, yellow, thick mucus. i had never felt so bad in my life... so im guessing she is allergic??

Poor Lacey, it definitely sounds like she was sensitive to pork. I feel your pain, Sadie had severe digestive issues in her first year and a half of life, I took days off work to stay home with her when she was ill.

I would probably avoid the pork too, however they can grow out of stomach issues. Sadie was on a hypoallergenic vet food for a year, until her issues cleared, now she has no digestive issues with anything at all.

I know have to decide if im gonna do the orijen red or acana ranchlands. Im leaning towards the acana only because it dosnt contain pork of any kind. Why are you limiting to a single food source? Why can't she eat a variety of foods?

Did she get raw, cooked, or processed pork? and how much fat was attached?

Like i would rather feed her the one with pork im to scared to try. The pork i gave her were some back rib bone with very very very little meat on them. i gave her about 4 just to chew on one evening and the next day she was really sick. They were cooked but had barley any meat on them and if she got that sick from that little, i dont wanna know what would happen if she ate a dog food full of it!

at ClantyreSheltie, im to sure what you mean in general. I dont limit her to one food source other than she gets the same dog food, but the reason for my posts is because i want to add in more variety but im causious because of the incident with pork

I wouldn't worry about it. My Collie couldn't eat any beef based processed foods (kibble). The first time I gave her raw beef, I did it on a day when I could be home to deal with the explosion. There was none. I have a dog who is sensitive to raw chicken, but can eat chicken based kibble just fine.

Raw, cooked, and processed foods all digest differently. I think pork in kibble is probably fine. Buy a small bag and test it out if it makes you nervous.

Thats really interesting, i didnt think that the same food would bother a dog depending on how it is cooked or processed. Thats good to know, i think i will buy a small bag and see how it goes i guess
