Flurry had her gallbladder surgery yesterday and did well. The day was fraught with stress, though. To get the surgeon I love who's did her jaw, colon and Misty's spleen, it had to be done at my vet's office so I had to bring her home last night since they don't have overnight care. It was a rough night, and I can see why they keep them overnight after these major surgeries, but I think we've turned the corner today. Yesterday she wouldn't lay down, eat or take her pills. She stood for hours, poor thing. This morning after rejecting three kinds of food she accepted a bowl of FreshPet and her pills in pill pops.
The surgeon said her gallbladder was full of grit and sludge and would certainly have caused problems with stones or mucoceles soon. I only have one more gallbadder in the house and that's Misty's, so I hope we get a break until the inevitable comes for her!
