Goodbye Gallbladder

Flurry had her gallbladder surgery yesterday and did well. The day was fraught with stress, though. To get the surgeon I love who's did her jaw, colon and Misty's spleen, it had to be done at my vet's office so I had to bring her home last night since they don't have overnight care. It was a rough night, and I can see why they keep them overnight after these major surgeries, but I think we've turned the corner today. Yesterday she wouldn't lay down, eat or take her pills. She stood for hours, poor thing. This morning after rejecting three kinds of food she accepted a bowl of FreshPet and her pills in pill pops.

The surgeon said her gallbladder was full of grit and sludge and would certainly have caused problems with stones or mucoceles soon. I only have one more gallbadder in the house and that's Misty's, so I hope we get a break until the inevitable comes for her!

oh my! You must have been a wreck overnight. I know I wouldn't have gotten any sleep with my pup in such discomfort. I am glad things are looking up and glad the nasty gallbladder is gone!

A huge sigh of relief here that Flurry is through surgery and starting recovery. Such a bummer she was in discomfort last night but at least she's finally eaten and getting her meds. These pups sure know how to make us grow gray hair ever faster. Hopefully this is THE LAST of medical dramas for your family!!!

I’m so glad she’s done!
I remember how rough everything was after Piper’s surgery…I 100% know why the keep them overnight too. It’s so hard to see them in pain!
Hopefully you have an uneventful 2 weeks until she’s healed!
