Gookey eye

Just woke up an hour ago and noticed Shelby's left eye had gook in it and had been running because some of her eyelashes were stuck together. It's a little red in the corner of her eye too. She acts fine but sometimes when she's standing she puts her paw up to that side of her face. It wasn't like this yesterday because I look into her beautiful eyes every day and would have noticed. My poor baby :cry: what do you guys think it is and what should I do?
 
Could be any number of things...should see the vet tomorrow if still the same or worse. Don't want to take a chance with your sweeties eyes.Also try to discourage her from pawing at her eyes.
 
Meh. I have a Collies, so ick eye is nothing big here.

Get some liquid tears (NOT VISINE), just the straight eye lubricant, and use that and a clean tissue to clean the eye out a couple of times a day. If after a couple of days it doesn't clear, or you have a good amount of green gook, then it's worth a vet visit.
 
We're dealing with that here. Casey has conjunctivitis....red 3rd eyelid and gook. We're on our second type of eye drops and go back to the vet today for a recheck. I think we've got it under control with these drops.
 
Hollie used to let me put a warm wash cloth on her eye. I think maybe it made her feel better. Shd had a blocked tear duct and her eye was always watering.
 
Well, we're STILL dealing with Gookey Eye. Casey is now on his 2nd type of drops. I thought he was doing a lot better and so did the vet. Now, I'm not so sure. I'm going to give it till Monday and see how he's doing then. We may end up going to the eye vet after all.
 
Funny that I see this today. Trax woke up with one of his eyes all goopy and crusty. I just used a warm wet towel and he seemed fine after that.
 
Her eyes pretty much all better now except for a little gook still. She has a little cold so the vet thinks that that's what gave her her goofy eye but I got some antibiotics for her cold and she's doing much better. I hope all your other babies eyes get better soon!! :yes:
