Man, it's been a while.... Robin is not only older he also has a new friend- Jantar. Jantar is actually Robin's half brother (same mother). I have to say having two shelties is amazing- so happy together.

How handsome is Robin! Did you choose his name because of that perfect black mask he is wearing? And Jantar- such a fuzzy little cutie. It's great that get on so well!

Hi Joanna, by your first mesaje in the forum I think we have lots of things in common...... I grow up whith Lassie films as you, so I always wanted to have a colie....until I known the shelties....of course! When I was 12 I had a dog (not pure) but similar to a colie but smallest....now I realize that she was more similar to a sheltie.... Now the dream became true and I have two shelties, one sable and other tri-colored that looks like my dog in the past. All my family says to me that the tri-color female is like "India". It has been ages since India crossed the rainbow....but I never forgoted her.....I think my female has a piece of India's soul inside when she looks at me whith those eyes...snif:cry:

They both are puppies now, but they grow fast. I have some behaviour problems whith the male that is rough whith her, mainly with food......

I think that your shelties play friendly....they are beautiful! Congrats!

@alonsoe Love your story :) Our generation was raised on Lassie. I think we all have a soft spot for her :)
Do you feed them together? From the start I tried to feed Robin and Jantar seperatly to avoid conflict and jealousy. I lock them in 2 different rooms for feeding so they don't see each other and don't distract one another. The only problem I have is that the older dog somehow senses that the puppy gets different food. He goes on strike every now and then and doesnt want to eat anything but the puppy's food.
P.S. Fun fact: Some of the dogs in the kennel I buy my dogs from are from Spain :) And some born in it now live in Spain :)

Yes, a lot of things in common, as the tank water fishes.....I'm aquarofila since I was 9 years old (I'm 43 now......so you can imagine...) and I already have a 120 lts aquarium. Also have a turtle (25 years old), a bird that speaks a lot....even does the noise as our alarm in the house....jajaja I must confess that I'm pet addicted!:hugs.

At first we started feeding them toghether with any problem.....but after few days the male (who came one moth earlier to the house) started to mark her whith an agresive behaviour. He knows that the meal is the same for both, but he tryes to eat her food, and of course, not allow her to be near his food, all for him! Now I feed them separately, but the female is not confident about eating her food whithout the male aproval....or so I think... Now It's getting worse, because the males does'nt want to share whith her the members of the family. We always pay attention to him first, but he is always controling her....

One etologa (I don't know the name in english) recomended us to give all the attention to the male, as he is the boss, but I think it doesn't work, because things go worse each day:no:

The female is only 5 days younger than the male. They both are from Kennel Caravan in Spain. I know they sell lots of their dogs all arround the world. They are very good breeders (25 years of experince in breeding shetlands) and have amazing shelties!! So I'm sure we have more things in common....even the breeder!! :wink2:

You're pet addicted? Please... my dad owned 3 pet stores :D You can't top that ;-)

Caravan? Lotta Burn's kennel? No kidding !! That's the same kennel! My breeder owns two dogs from it, (bi-black and sable females) and last year they bought one pup from Poland. I was actually considering to buy his brother but decided to buy Robin who was 1 week older instead. Man, the world is such a small place :)

So you Know Lotta? I'm lucky to have her near me.... when I decided to have my first shelties I had not doubt about the breeder. I always had adopted dogs, I thought that buy a dog when there are so many dogs waiting for a home was not an option for me.... but I have made an exception with my new puppies, I always wanted a sheltie (or a collie..) and now it's time to make the dream come true. We give support to a dog's protection association (in spanish "sociedad protectora de animales") with money and food, that makes me feel better (my conscience) :rolleyes2:

Your guys are amazing! I'm sure you have choosen the best breeder near you!

I can't share pictures of my puppies...by the moment :wink2: , but I hope to see yours grow up and have good news of them!
 
I don't know her personally but I have heard of her through my breeder. I also sometimes look at her FB account to see how Karawan Black Fox is growing up :)
