I'm sure a number of you see more show Shelties than I do, but I love to go watch the conformation shows here in the Northeast. When it comes to grooming, all I can say is Oh My. At a show recently I actually saw a Sheltie excused from the ring for (I am not kidding) "too much makeup."

I have seen cat people use eyebrow pencil on their Siamese-type breeds at cat shows to touch up their facial markings (not sure it's legal, but they do it), but never make-up on a dog. How in the world could that be regulation in a conformation class? I'm no pro at show stuff, but it just doesn't seem honest!
