Growth Spurt at 9.5 months?

Lacey is 9.5 months old. We have been pretty sure she is at her full size, but the last day or so she has been starving. Eating breakfast and at 3:00 and then demanding an additional meal at 6:00.

She has doing this the last few days. Could she be going through another growth spurt? She is starving at 6:00. We give her some dry food and she eats the whole thing. It's not a huge amount, but this is new for her.

There were not any male dogs around other than my neutered male Eskie so I don't think that she is expecting, but I don't know why she is so hungry all of a sudden.

Sounds like a normal sheltie to me. She could be going though another growth spurt. Depending on the line some grow long.

Most exciting sheltie decrease food intake , I know I know does not make sense. But it's true.

She has not been a huge eater in the past. she gets up in the morning and is in no great rush to eat so this is totally out of character for her.

Thank you. I just didn't know what to think. I do hope she gets a bit bigger, but we will just see on that.

can't get enough either

Savannah has just hit 8 mths, and at this time Kaleigh became ravenous, and went through her last growth spurt. Now looking at Savannah, I can see her nose getting longer, more adult like rather than puppy-ish. She doesn't feel like the slight petite girl she has been, she feels more solid when I pick her up. So I am thinking she is entering in that last growth increase. Kaleigh has been my chowhound, but now, they are equally acting like famine is forthcoming. But for us, the warming trend has meant more outdoor time, so calories are being consumed. I will crack up if she ends up being bigger than Kaleigh as I have doubted for mths that she would grow. My girls are always proving me wrong. I hope Lacey is just growing up , not producing offspring:eek2:

Spitfire grew for the whole year. He slowed and then put on an inch in the last month. He barely stayed below 14 when he was under 13 at 11 months (tracked him for a height dog in flyball)
