grunting...

puppy grunts

Both Kaleigh & Savannah grunt when picked up...Kaleigh is 20lbs now, so her getting picked up regularly isn't happening-yikes...Savannah grunts at anything coming in contact with her. She grunts when picked up, she has the same grunt at being groomed and brushed, she has a more lilty grunt when I scratch her ears, or play with her paws. I love puppy grunts, they make me smile.

Neither one of mine grunt that is funny. Lil' Lady will bark when she wants more
of anything, or whines when she doesn't get her way. Its her saying WELL I am
the Royal Highness. Yep and I am the head B.

My Katie was a real "grumbler". I called her the mistress of "growlspeak".
Lady hasn't grunted yet. She's the demure one, until it's time to go for her walk. Then it's yap, yap, yap!!

Zulu grunts mostly when laying down, or changing position after he has settled down. He is also starting to "sheltie talk".

Callan is a grumbler too. There is no reason that I can determine for why or when he does it. Sometimes he's chasing his foot or his tail, but sometimes he "just does it" No other explanation except that maybe he's bored.

Gavin will grunt when getting cuddles and good rubs.
It's soft, almost like a gruff purr.
I am not quite sure it means he is happy, but since it only happens when he is getting snuggles with rubs I guess it does

sheltie talk

I absolutely ADORE sheltie talk...Kaleigh mostly does this with our Vet-it is like she is flirting with him, so funny. He is a big guy with a really deep voice and I think Kaleigh likes the tone. Savannah does it with certain toys. They both have tried to talk with the squirrel that visits when it chatters at them. Otherwise it is regular barking at it-ugh!

Oh yeah Odin is a big grumbler. He does the grunt when he gives me hugs. I think he's copying me because I do like a mmmm when he gives in and gives me one so he does it back. I swear sometimes he's trying to talk.
