Had a scare today

I am also really happy to hear Maddie is doing better already. I haven't seen a dog having seizures, but it must be very scary. Lasix is a drug for congestive heart failure, takes the liquid off, and is used for humans too all the time. I know that both drugs should definitely help her. I hope your Maddie keeps feeling better all the time. God Bless her and you and DH.:o

So happy the vet was able to get her in quicky. My Gypsy takes Enalaprill for Kidney disease. It is a blood pressure med and slows the heart rate therefore putting less stress on the Kidney in Gypsy's case. we have experienced no side effects. Praying all will be well with your Girl. give her a hug from us.
 
But did they tell you what the root cause of the fluid around the heart was?

I'm sure you thought of this already, but longer term prognosis is critical here.

Wanted to let everyone know that Maddie had a peaceful night, except for waking to go outside and do her business. Her breathing is not so labored and raspy. I really want to give kudos to our new vet. They did not know us from adam, saw Maddie on a rush basis, and since I didn't have the full amount of the bill allowed me to make a payment on Monday and I went in and payed the balance this morning. Additionally DH just called me to say the vet called this morning to see how she is doing.

Thanks for the update on Maddie. Glad to hear she is doing well.
Sounds like a great vet, even calling to check on how she was doing.
How cool is that!

Just wanted to thank everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers for our Miss Maddie. She is feeling well enough to play with Miss Saddie, chasing her and playing tug-a-war with the toys. We took her to the vet today for a follow-up visit and he is very pleased with her progress. Her breathing is clear, there has been no coughing, and the only thing he hears is the heart murmur. We will continue with the meds, no increase dosage or additional meds added. Again Kudos to our new vet, no charge for the office visit today!
