Handler Novice Agility

Aww. I think Toffee looks great! Don't worry. You'll learn to get your cues on-time and he'll learn to read them.

One thing I will say....because I do this a lot and get reprimanded for it......don't give up. Around 2 minutes on the first video, you were sending Toffee to a tunnel and gave up. Or at least that's what it looked like to me and trust me, I'm the queen of giving up. lol. So break that habit now so you're not like me.

And now I see what you mean about bending over, hehehe. I think we all had that problem in the beginning. I recall being yelled at to STAND UP!

Now, Toffee is doing great! And good choice about not trialing with his broken start line under stress. oh trust me I know that one.

He is doing well. With a little work you will definitely be able to trial. He follows you nicely. It is great that you had the chance to "practice" in a trial like format.

Whenever I'm getting too serious or think I'm doing so well, my dogs let me know to lighten up.

Last week in agility class Diva decided jumps were so last week.:rolleyes2: This was her. OMG there a dog walk-run to it. I turn to bring her back. OMG there's the A frame-zoom I turn again. OMG the teeter-zoom,bang Nice teeter right, what you say, over there. Flys to the box. I 'll just sit on the box. I'm a good dog. Right.:biggrin2: All I wanted her to do was take 2 jumps right in front of me and all she wanted was contacts. She was running back and forth across the field by passing all the jumps on the way. I swear this dog did an Open course last week. Sigh.
I'm right there with you! On our first rt, Nellie skipped 3 jumps and ran to the aframe then did the dw thrice!

OMG getting the mechanics down is tough, lol
Boxwork teaches them SO much.. to drive forward, find their line, to wrap around a jump, to not 'assa passa' and a whole bunch of other great tidbits that we learned today!!

The best thing was tho.. Toffee didn't break any of his start line sit-stays...
The bees and flies were SO on him, he was AIR SNAPPING and really trying to get them but keeping his BUTT on the ground, it was actually the funniest thing!

I love box work! When I can't think of any specific set up I want to do, but I want to work the dogs in the backyard, I do box work.

And I thought Toffee was so cute snapping at those bugs! He lifted everything but his butt--his head, his front legs, such a good boy!

Toffee was such a good boy! Those flies were really going after him. He has a nice start line. Don't ever lose that. Being able to lead out to the 3rd or 4th obstacle has saved my butt so many times.

seriously I am covered in bites... it was so cute he had everything going but his butt stayed down, LOL

You and Toffee look great! I love the video of him snapping at the flies. so cute and he didn't break his sit/stay. Good boy Toffee!
