Hanna Momdays - Week 42 (day late)

Hi Eva,

I never brought Sammy to a groomer, can you describe what does the groomer do? I always thought only dogs that do not shed need to get groomed regularly. I do the brushing, bathing, paw and rear end trimming and nail cutting myself, is there anything the groomer do extra (or differently) that would make the $50 worth while?

Thanks,
Sammy's Daddy

Hanna goes to the groomer's 3-4 times a year, in between I find that I can keep her fairly well brushed and toes trimmed. The groomer does a really nice job trimming hair on her feet ( between the pads) & ears, clips her nails & dremels them too. I find that she comes home smelling wonderful and is much fluffier than I can get her with my hand dryer, so it's a bit of a treat for me too. Mine charges $40 to do Hanna, I think she gives me a break as I bring her in fully brushed and with no mats.

Here's what my groomer says:

She's so pretty and ploofy! I love when their mane is so snowy white (which means I have to take pics almost immediately LOL)
I just noticed the hair in her ears looks silver...cool.

Ploofy - I like that  the hair in her ears is actually a mix of silver and that very pale colour that's on her hind quarters ( I call them her bloomers).

Hannah is gorgeous!!

My girls love the groomer. It's like Spa Day, Wahoo!!
Plus, she always has ample treats in her pocket. A sure fire way to win Lexi's love. They come back so soft and fluffy. I've never been able to get them as nice at home.

What a beautiful girl your Hanna is, the full white bid is very pretty. I agree with EJHuntL, I love the silver in the ears, kind of sets her apart from all others and gives her a very unique look. I took Bambi to the groomers once a month, not for me but for her. She loved her groomer and she loved her bath and always just pranced. She thought she was something special coming home all sweet smelling, all girly fruu-fruu and just plain gorgeous, and of course on our walks everyone had to stop and tell her how pretty she was. Bambi was a little ham and I think she understood every word, she held her head a little higher and I think it even put a little extra pep in the step, she had this little wiggle when she walked and those little bloomers just swayed from side to side.

Your Bambi sounds lovely. I always take Hanna out visiting after a trip to the groomers. Gotta share the ploofy
