Hard time finding a puppy

Did you check with the ASSA rep? That is how I got my guys and I have been pleased on all fronts.

I would do a fly buy but I would have to have some link to the breeder. Someone I know from here or through a Sheltie friend etc. I drove 2 hours for Sca and 3 for Spitfire they are both hill billy dogs :biggrin2:

Yes I did check assa. I did find a breeder with some puppies who lives in Central Valley CA. About 2hrs away. Hopefully the web is up-to-date.

I'm in So Ca and I got my beautiful girl from a breeder in Orangevale outside of Sacramento. I know we can't identify breeders here, but if you PM me I will give you his name and contact information.

I waited a long time to get my puppy as I wanted a bi blue, but I ended up with a blue merle and she is a doll. Well worth it to with for just the right dog to come along.

There is also a "shelties available" facebook group that has quality dogs from breeders all over the country. Just watching that board might be helpful in widening your search.

If you are willing to drive to SoCal there is quite a few breeders and some have puppies I know because I have been on the search for the right puppy too. The rescue group Muttshack also has two shelties right now.

You can PM me too when you reach the limit. I am pretty familiar with the central CA sheltie people and can make recommendations or negations.

I looked up the phone number for the puppy that was advertised that your dad rang them about (beauty of being a mod - I can look at removed links). That same phone number is selling cats, corgis, Shibu inu, havanese, spaniels, schnauzers, and that's just the first page of the google search. Either they are a huge, very bad puppy farm or they are a dodgy outfit selling animals they don't own. Definitely beware. The classified sections have a lot of dodgy dealers and scam artists.

Oh my, thank you so much! I knew something wasn't right.
