harness?

I often wondered what Cranberry had on the day of the gathering.I knew it was leather, but you hardly noticed it was on.

I showed this to Brian, and he really like the look of it.So we will be ordering 2 for Trapp & Jasper, for the NY trip.

I have had great luck with harness's for them, but do not like the fact that thier coats are all crappy looking with straps, and hair bunched up.I don't think it would be comfortable.Plus the colors(red, blue) are not really attractive on them, especially if they are wearing it all the time.

For some apparent reason,Trapp's harness will not go small enough around the neck area, but yet Jaspers fits great.
They are made by two differant suppliers. The harness fits great everywhere else. And I can't go smaller for him,or it won't fit around the girth.(strangly made) I've tried already~

Thanks for the link, bookmarke it for later.

Callie wore a red harness for 3 years. I was always on the lookout for a brown one that would blend in so when I saw the brown leather, I had to try it on and then when it buckled on top and I didn't have to smooth tons of hair out of the buckle- I was sold. There are two brands- same style- at Petsmart. The AKC brand has thinner straps and does well for Callie and Dixie. The other brand is a little wider and is fine for Cran. The initials on it are TP but I can't find the actual brand :(

So Petsmart sells them to? As the link redirected me to PetCo. It petsmart sells them, then I can find them here without ordering.I'll have to look.

With the webmaster there is a handle on the top so you can pick them up fast, which i know i will LOVE.

Thats what I love about flyball harnesses - they have a handle on the top for easy grabbing. And they clip around the dogs rather than my having to put a foot through as Tully likes to go all floppy when I put a harness on. For a dog that is pulling or for very high levels of activity they are great for distributing the pressure across their chests rather than around the neck. They are also called sports harnesses, tracking harnesses are the same but without the handle (and where's the fun in not having a handle). Clean run have some very trendy looking ones and there are a few different varieties on the web, I get mine locally made.

If you are looking for a harness for a pulling dog or an active dog I highly recommend getting a sports/flyball/tracking harness.

I just searched both, and read reviews on the AKC one.Every review just about said they do not hold in place. The slides to adjust, they move. And a couple of the reviews said thiers broke. So I am not sure about those.

They are nylon, not leather,so I can see where they would stretch.I would like leather if possible.I need to look at the link again from Petco.

I'm liking the looks of the one from Petco, more I look at it.I do see it is faux leather, but it looks really well made. I need to measure these guys.Any thoughts about sizing,do they adjust up well? Do the adjustments stay and not slip?

I haven't noticed much- I know the pups are still changing- so I haven't worried if I needed to readjust theirs. I did buy a smaller one for Dixie as she got out of the medium. pretty sure that Callie's has been fine

The Petco one linked to earlier is the same AKC harness also sold at Petsmart

Top Paw is the other one that Cranberry has:

virtually the same as the AKC one but a little wider :smile2:

take the pups to Petsmart and try them out- you'll be able to see if you like the harness or not without ordering and waiting :wink2:
