Have I Said....

.....how much I HATE fireworks?! Last night, not even the Fourth, we had them on three sides of our house. Neighbors behind us put on a display every year that's worthy of any town and every year they get longer and bigger and louder. They're half a mile up the mountain and so high we can see them clearly. Every dog in the area must be hiding. And tonight for good measure we'll have more, plus thunderstorms! Gaaah!

I got the dogs an emotional support blanket. Misty wasn't impressed. Hubby just rolled his eyes LOL. She and Flurry feel them the most. Ruffles can't hear them and Sprite is happy with a chew bone.

Same here - all week long firecrackers, some extremely loud and unhappy dogs. Not to mention wildlife being freaked out. I love the professional shows a lot but kids and other idiots setting off rockets and cherry bombs fa week is just NOT RIGHT. Eli and Meadow are very unhappy. Juno seems better able to tolerate it.

Pico tolerates it very well, almost as well as Gavin. But my childhood sheltie would shake so badly in his crate the crate would shake!
I say this as Pico is sleeping at my feet as the fireworks are going off!

luckily this year it was just last night and tonite.
but no way we would go camping during this!

Deacon is not fizzed at all, but then nothing really fizzes him ever... he is just a happy pupper. Brodie on the other hand did not like our storms which proceeded fireworks. When stuff settled down a bit from the storm, I opened the curtains so we could see the rain. Brodie had calmed a bit by then, but suddenly someone started shooting off fireworks and he could not only hear them, he could see them and really started gong bonkers. Poor boy! I hope tonight is quiet... I feel so bad for him this time of year. Apparently those storms we had brought in a super cell - docks are all over the place up at the lake and they are encouraging folks to avoid he Brookfield area... heard Torrington got nailed too.

I am lucky with my pair when loud displays went off there was the typical shelite warning bark -- as if the dumb human didn't hear them-- OK but it was back to sleeping infront of the fan, They would ignore them for awhile then let out a bark then back to MEH... all my Shelties after the first one have kind of ignored them and thunder after the first few pops and booms..

out of my three the only one that really reacts to fireworks (or thunder) is Finnie…Blueberry might bark once or twice but Finnie gets terribly upset. Piper of course could care less lol. But I have observed Finnie while he’s barking and it’s more herding behaviour he does when the noise is going off…he runs to the noise barking but then runs back to me, like he’s saying come see…there’s something going on, go check it out hooman!

With my assistant Ian before Spitfire ran them off :ROFLMAO: Yes the old man spent about 2 minutes attacking boomers before mission accomplished and passing out in front of his fan for the night. Ian did a lot of foot setting. Still working out settings but this year I recorded them. Next year I might it a city sponsored one.0W4A4210.jpeg0W4A4209.jpeg

Great shots Sheep!

Question for you…what is the best lens for photographing scenery and mountains and such? I’m wondering for my trip if I’ll need a better lens.

I'm still trying to recover. Its a war zone out here and LEOs do nothing! Benny at one point tried to sit on my head. Gaba doesnt help him, so trazodone it is and I get so pissed doing that when the neighbors are breaking the law!
(of course the whole world got to see what a clown show Pima County Sheriff Dept is if they followed the Nancy Guthrie disappearence!!)
