Haven't Visited in Awhile....Quick Update and Question.

I agree that it is a personal choice, and since he is 10 months old already, there probably isn't much that you could do to change it. Usually by that time the cartiledge has hardened up enough that it would be difficult to get them down.

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing them with us.

So I'm stopping in to say hello, share some updated pictures, and ask a question!

Firstly, Samson will be 10 months old tomorrow. His coat is growing in beautifully (see attached pictures). I'm so glad that I accidentally stumbled upon him in the pet store (yes, pet store), when I did. I never knew what kind of dog I'd get if and when I got "my own", and he's just perfect.

Here's my question:
I decided not to glue Samson's ears. I think he's so much more expressive and charismatic with them perked up. Has anyone here opted NOT to glue their sheltie's ears for the same, or similar reasons? I don't think there is any health benefit to it, I believe it's all aesthetic (correct me if I'm wrong, please).

Anyway, hope everyone's new year is off to the right start!

P.S. Samson's recent pictures were taken by a friend of mine, who is a professional photographer :)

Samson has a lovely expression ... the professional pics are cool! When we got Brandi & Brady their ears were glued and the breeders gave us a small bottle of glue and told us how to glue them down once they popped. Well ... Brandi & Brady loved to rough it up in play and before long the ears were popping. We probably reglued them a half a dozen times and then gave up and let nature take it's course. Brady's ears stand straight up and Brandi has one ear up and one ear tipped. And we love them both - just as they are! Samson looks lovely just the way he is and once his coat comes in and he fills out you will hardly notice his ears anyway. It's the Sheltie eyes and expression grab one's attention!
