You mean they don't all sleep upside down? Sometimes mine lay along a corner, and have their back legs against the wall, while the front legs 'go around the corner' sticking straight out.
He sleeps upside down...

Shelby is happy to hear other sheltie friends are goofy sleepers like he is... It is especially funny looking when he is upside down and in the corner. I can't help but think of how UNcomfortable it would be!

Epic is in the upside down club too. 
It tends to be just at night when he is really relaxed. He might do it during the day but when I'm around he is always on standby so I don't see it. None of the other shelties sleep this way but they have their own peculiar habits. Yogi nearly always goes for a cushion and either settles down on it or uses it as a pillow. Revel is more traditional but even at nearly 14 will sleep curled round with his front feet pointing in the opposite direction to his head. I'm sure Dr Shelli is right about the genetic part as Epic also lays like this sometimes but I've not seen other shelties/dogs do this.
