Like Tehlulah, I just buy Advantage Multi. One dose works for a month and each dose is $10. But again, if you are careful with it, and put it in the right spot high enough on the back where they can't lick it, it's ok. I'd look into it, and talk to your vet, it's so easy to use...as long as your baby can sit still for all of 10 seconds, you're good, and it works for a lot of things.

Both of mine are on interseptor. My girl takes it with ease, and my boy is the difficult one. Glad I found this thread, they are due soon.

My girl is also on Interceptor. I usually give it to her in some peanut butter and I don't have any issues with that.
 
Before Interceptor mine used to get Heartgard even though it was supposedly reformulated and safe for shelties. It was, basically, until we had to up the dosage for Marcus who gained enough weight to put him in the next higher weight group. This was 3 years ago. He had a near fatal toxic reaction and we almost lost him. The vets thought I was nuts when I said it was an Ivemectrin reaction and my vet even called the manufacturer since they had never seen a toxic reaction after the reformulation. Heartgard said Marcus was the first case since they reformulated it to report a toxic reaction. After that all mine were switched to Interceptor and have been fine since. They have no issues with taking it since mine would eat anything
 
My vet put Bacca on Revolution. It is topical (that is, you squeeze the little tube of fluid on the skin on his neck. It's got both heartworm and fleas/ticks.

Easy as pie!
