Love the pictures, especially the herding ones. Hardly any non border collie herding activities here unless you have a pal with sheep.@ SheepofBlue
We train at HOTC (www.hotc.org) and I heard about the herding there, although the herding workshops are not held by HOTC, they are held privately. There are usually workshops at least once a month. If you are really curious about it, I can put you in touch with the owner of the farm we use and she can definitely tell you more about it.
Lexi is a large sheltie too hehehe, she's right at 19 inches and weighs about 33 lbs.
Lexi is almost 4 and we just started herding in March, so it's never too late. As long as your dog is willing to work, then it's a lot of fun! However, from a handler's standpoint it is the hardest thing I've ever done!!

Thanks for the info I will keep it in mind. Currently life is once again in an uproar at work so planning more than a week out is just not possible.
I have some folks I know at HOTC but me and Sca go over to Decatur for Flyball getting into HOTC classes is just to tough for me to do, nice folks though. What do y'all train in? A fellow (and his wife) that I used to work with has Golden's they do agility and other things with (Ford) they are new but seemed active. Another fellow from there (Jerry can't remember last name) was one of the early members. I think he used to have Goldens and swapped to something else. Not Shelties though so I didn't pay a ton of attention

Unfortunately Sca's girlfriend (another Lexi) is not coming this year so he will be checking all the ladies out

It also happens to land on his 2nd birthday so that will be fun We train in obedience at HOTC currently; however, we won't be taking any more obedience classes until we finish herding. The training styles of herding and obedience are conflicting with each other, and mastering the herding first will make her better in obedience later. We might goof around in agility at HOTC in the near future, but training for herding is starting to pick up. There is a Jerry in my Novice class and he has 2 border collies. I don't know him very well though.
