Hiya, my names Jodie and I will be picking up my new sheltie boy on Saturday. Im new to shelties but not to dogs, I have an 18 month old placid Inuit boy who misses his company (we lost our Malamute girl to the bridge back in February) but wanted a smaller breed this time, and it has been my childhood dream to own a sheltie.

Very excited and I will post piccy's as soon as I have some :wink2:

Cant wait to get to know everyone here, just worried I have everything now

So far I have:

A crate
Blankets, towels, bedding etc
Bowls (already got)
rolled leather collar
Fabric collar and lead
Mason and Pearsons brush
Toys inc puppy Wubba
Talc (for cleaning fur)
White Vinegar (for puppy accidents)

Most other things I already have such as poo bags, treats (make my own ones).

Let me know if I have missed anything really obvious

I feel now is a good time to get a pup as I have 2 kids so I can get away only working part time at our local library and part time working from home as a pet portraits artist (plus my Mother in law looks after them at home), so pup wont have to be left often.

Welcome to Sheltie Nation Jodi! I hope you get as much joy out of this forum as I have. There are a lot of great people here willing to share their ideas, experiences, stories and give their support.

Please post some photos of your new pup as soon as you can, we LOVE photos!

btw, you left puppy food off the list. Maybe you just forgot, if not its definitely important!

Hee hee, nope didnt forget, going to see how we get on with breeders supply, then hope to move onto home cooked and raw :)

Glad I found this forum as there dont seem to be any shelties in the town Im in, mainly labs and JRTs.
