Cassie is our 2nd sheltie. The first sheltie, unfortunately died of spleen cancer. :cry: We have always been shelties admirers. It took us 2 weeks after the Candy's death until we went back to the same breeder and get 6 weeks old Cassie. :biggrin2: The home was too empty without Candy.

How old was Candy ? RIP Candy. You are now at peace and with all our furkids at the Bridge. Yes , Shelties are awesome aren't they. They just get at your heartstrings and are so easy to love. I love all animals don't get me wrong but Shelties just seem to have that extra tug.:biggrin2:
 
Dave, this is awesome! not only our dogs share the same b'day, but you and me live 30 min. from each other (unless there is another Pickerington in Ohio).:yes:

Elaine, Candy was 10 years old. It was so heart breaking to see her suffering. I can write a full size sad book about Candy's suffering. After the surgery the surgeon owner assured us she was going to be OK now. He admitted later he was overly optimistic. :cry: Candy was gone in few hours after the surgery. :( I am like you Elaine - I am a huge huge animal lover, but shelties take a special place in my heart. Cassie is so affectionate, it's unbelievable! Candy was very smart and sweet too, but not as affectionate. We loved Candy to death and we love Cassie to death. :yes:

I tried opening the link to your pictures of Candy and Cassie but they don't work. I found it a lot easier to just join the forum and become a Premium member. then you can post easier.:wink2:
