Hello everyone I am new to the forum. I was told about this forum from some of the wonderful people I have met in another forum on Myspace. I was told this forum was a great place to meet sheltie lovers alike and get great information.

I for one had a Sheltie but after she turned a year old we had to put her to sleep b/c of a strange weird disease she had, that even the vets were confused and had no idea. I was so devastated b/c not only was she my first sheltie but my first puppy ever. She was like my little guardian angel that I needed for that time period. I am dying to have another furkid like her but I am having trouble finding breeders and such in Florida. As much as I love all shelties and how they are all so cute and special in so many ways after having a blue merle I am crazy about getting another blue merle or a bi-blue. Just b/c I think of my baby Chasity.

I look forward to meeting some of you and getting to know the forum better. If anyone has information on sheltie rescues or breeders than you are truely a life saver hehe.

Thank you,

Maria :smile2:

Welcome to the group! So glad you saw my message yesterday about the forum! Everyone is very nice and helpful on here! Hope you like it!

Welcome to the group. I'm Judy and I also live in Florida. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with your little sheltie. If you are having problems finding a good breeder why not consider adopting a rescued sheltie. We work very carefully to place a healthy dog with the right owner.

Welcome Maria

Sorry to hear about your little Sheltie Angel Chasity. That has to have been so devastating. I know how you feel about Blue Merles, I had a gorgeous Blue Merle named Jewel. We were fortunate enough to have her for 10 short years. I still miss her dearly. She had beautiful Blue eyes, thus the name, Jewel. She passed over to the Rainbow Bridge 10/26/2007. We had her cremated and have her ashes with us to be buried with us upon our departure from this Earth.
I see you heard from Sunchaser, who is Sheltie Rescue in Central Florida. She is a God send to our little Sheltie furkids down there.:biggrin2: Good Luck on your search for your new Sheltie. Welcome to the forums.

thank you all for the wonderful welcome... I am so sorry to hear about your precious Jewel.. I am definitely in the hunt for a wonderful new furkid hehe.. and I will definitely keep everyone posted on my process.

Welcome to the group. There are sheltie rescue groups in all parts of FL- I would definitely look for a rescue. Get on Petfinder.com, put in your zip code and search for shelties. That's how I found Callie, though her rescue group only adopts in the Panhandle to southern Alabama area. Keep looking and you'll find the right one :smile2:
