Hello all,
After months and months of research and study, we finally brought home a puppy few days ago.
She is a 4 mo. old sable. My daughter picked a name "EEVEE", which is one of the Pokemon name. That "EEVEE" pokemon *kindda* looks like a sable sheltie.
She slept most of the 4 hour drive at night to come home from the breeder. She's being very quiet at the moment... probably figuring out her way around the new home and new people and new everything.
Initial observation:
She appears to be not too skimmish. Does not freak out to various daily noises (keychain dropping, flushing toilets, doorbells, vacuum cleaners, doors closing, etc), and being friendly to neighbors/friends and their kids. Briefly took her to a pet store (I know I shouldn't do that often - chances of picking up diseases while her immune system is fully developed.... but I had to because I needed to buy a crate of a proper size).... she just strolled along the cat/dog/bird/hamster isles wagging her tail, browsing all those animals. She travels very well in the car, which was a very important for me.
I'm hoping this is a good sign of a "well socialized" puppy.
