I just discovered the SN and am thrilled to find others who love and understand this wonderful breed! I lost my Sheltie Valen in October and adopted what the rescue thought was a GSD/ASD/Sheltie mix in November. It turns out that Mercy is, in fact, an Akita/JRT/BC mix. While she's not what I thought I was bringing home, I love her to pieces and wouldn't trade her for the world!

She does however, give me a new appreciation for the trainability of Shelites. I swear, there were times when Valen figured out what I wanted if I just asked nicely!
