Hi, my name is Suzanne & I am new to the forum. I am getting my female sheltie puppy on Saturday. She is through a rescue out of Mississippi and I have not met her yet. The rescue took in 3 purebred shelties from a breeder and when they went to the vets with the one female to get her shots and spayed, they found out that she was pregnant. My puppy was born at the rescue, she had one other sibling, but that puppy only lived one day unfortunately. So my little girl is a strong one. We haven't picked a name out yet for her, but want to choose a strong name for her since she was the survivor puppy.
Below is the link to a video we got of her yesterday. I did not take the video, so sorry for all the flooring footage. I like that my puppy keeps going up to all the other dogs in the crates - no fear at all and the tail never stops wagging. The other puppy in the video is a lab mix whom my puppy's mommy raised. The lab mix puppy's mommy was hit by a car, so they put those puppies w/ the sheltie mom and she took care of all of them like they were her own. These 2 puppies are best buds.
I am sure I will be on this site asking lots of questions.
I grew up with a sheltie (don't think she was a purebred, but she was mostly sheltie). We have a 2yo labrador retreiver and a 11-1/2yo persian cat. All females - my poor husband... We have a nice sized fenced in yard. I walk my current dog twice a day and do agility with her. We own a boat and the lab comes out with us - she is a swimmer (not sure if shelties like water or not, but she will learn to swim I am sure by default).

I hope it works. I love the spring in her step and she tracks up nicely.
