Hello from PA!!

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! I haven't had much time to be on here yet but I'm sure I will have plenty of questions to pick your brains with!!

David - Yes, Lucy is smaller than Champ she always has been a little more petite. :smile2: ....she's shorter and a bit lighter.

Lovemyshelties - We are between Lancaster and Reading so I guess we are almost neighbors to your sister- in-law.

It is great to hear that others have adopted sibling puppies. From what I read on the Internet we are totally crazy!! Some days I do think we are crazy but mostly it has just been a lot of fun! The thing we've found to be the hardest is the training.....we had a trainer come to our house for two sessions and were totally disappointed with her methods of training so we've tried some things on our own but the pups still need lots of work!

my fiance thought that I was crazy too when I told her that I wanted to adopt both of them at the same time too, but now she's really happy that I did because Luna Bear is her favorite little thing on this Earth. It can be crazy, but I'm with you I've always been really unconventional and this past year I've also found them to be a lot of fun. But yeah it is hard to train both of them at the same time. They've been to 2 of the Petsmart classes, then I tried doing a class with Ash with a lady around the corner from me a couple months ago, but that didn't really work out. I now want to try and get them in to agility training, but I feel like I have to choose to do one or the other with that one too. So there definitely are challenges with adopting litter mates.

Welcome.
We also lost a very special Lab in September 2010 and have been dogless since then. That changes on March 20th when we bring our new puppy home!
Your babes are lovely... both your 4 legged and 2 legged ones. The photo of the pups playing in the snow is just great...and so Sheltie like.

Hello from Western PA, ChampLucy. Welcome! Champ and Lucy are adorable; thank you for sharing the pictures.

I have siblings also. My boy, Edan, I brought home when he was 7 months old. His sister, CJ, came home with us in April 2010. The reason for the delay in bringing her home - her breeder was showing her. Currently, they are both 5 years old and an absolute dream.

Hi fellow Sheltie owners!

My name is Julie and my dh and I are a family of 4 boys and 2 Shelties. We lost our 12 year old black lab, Shadow in Oct. of 2010 and missed having a dog so much.....4 months later we fell in love with our male Sheltie, Champ and when we went back the next day to take him home we ended up falling in love with his sister, Lucy too! Champ and Lucy turned 1 on Dec. 14th and it has been quite a year (almost). We've definitely had our challenges raising two pups at the same time, but they give us so much joy and so much laughter each day. I look forward to getting to know everyone on here and also hope to find some support with the daily challenges of raising 2 pups the same age!

I quickly put together an album on photobucket so I could share some pictures of our two cuties! Pictures range from 10 weeks to 1 year old. Hopefully I did everything right and the link works!!

Hi Julie ... welcome! Lucy and Champ are beautiful Shelties!

We adopted 2 Sheltie siblings (a brother and sister) almost 3 years ago. It was a lot to take on at times ... but we definitely felt we made the right decision as they are best friends and good company for each other. The most difficulty we've encountered is when they have both been sick (vomiting and diahrreah) as a result of flu bugs that have come into the house a few times.

We paper (pee pad) trained them from day 1 and then moved the pee pads outside until they went without them. We still keep some pee pads (great for overnight emergencies, especially in the winter).

Here are a few pictures ... from their puppy days to adulthood.

Wow two at a time. I bet you had your hands full. I bet they love to be together and its great that they have each other to play with. I am from Maryland but have visited Lancaster several times. I even went to Reading one time to a Bird Mart. Great pictures, and thank you for sharing.

Lunabear - I just now saw the pic of your two little boys! How adorable!!

Aww, thank you. Isn't it funny how even though they came from the same litter that still they have different weights, and have different sizes? Just like what you were saying about how Champ is bigger than Lucy, Luna is also a lot bigger than Ash. Ash I think weighs like 12 pounds less than Luna.

Welcome to the group!

The pictures are delightful, thanks for posting them.

Your littermates are delightful! Loved the picture of them racing!!

Welcome!!!!! I SO envy you having litter mates!! When I got Maggie, I had to choose between 2 sisters. The thought never occurred to me take both. I was just so excited that my husband was allowing me to get one!!!! We both have said we wished we bought them both. Her sister was just a little smaller, other than that, they were identical. I'm partial, but, I think Maggie is gorgeous!!!

I now have 4 shelties!!!:lol::lol: If I'd only known!!!
