Hello to the Sheltie Community

Ron and Jan

I am so sorry to hear about your losing Cleveland. It is very hard and difficult to lose your furkid. You will never forget them once they put their paw print on your hearts but your life will be better for having them and loving Cleveland as you must or you wouldn't be here on this site.

Oh Ron & Jan, I know your heartache. I hope some day the memories make you smile instead of weep.

Post a memorial to Cleveland. I did a very short one for my Sheltie and it made me feel better. Many people have walked in your shoes and know how your feel.

So sorry to hear about your Cleveland. We just lost a furkid of our own in March & it still hurts. Talking with other sheltie owners is a good tonic for such feelings, though.

RIP Cleveland

Just a quick hello today. We have often visited your site, but we were always so busy playing with Cleveland, our sheltie, we just looked at the cute pictures and moved on. Today we have time, for we want to remember our Cleveland and ease our aching hearts by becoming involved with this community. Cleveland lies quietly now in a shady grove behind the garden. We will post more upbeat notes in the future when a new puppy is romping around, but today our hearts are breaking and we know all of you will understand. Thanks for reading! Ron and Jan.

My heartfelt sympathies for your Loss of Cleveland. How old was he ? It's never easy to lose our presious furkids regardless of age or tragedy. Know that he is now at peace and romping around with all of our Furkids. He awaits patiently for your forever meeting when your time comes. Give yourself time to grieve and if someone thinks it's silly to grieve over Cleveland than they have never known the love of a Sheltie !

I'm so sorry that you are having a terrible time adjusting to life without Cleveland.

Believe me, it does get easier. He'll always hold a special place in your heart and can never be replaced. Cherish you memories of him - he'll live on with you that way.

Like you, when I lost Timber last year, I felt lost for weeks, coming home to an empty house. I guess that's why I decided to get a new pup as quickly as possible. Bacca (and then Indy) can and never replace Timber - Timber is a memory of happier times for me. But they do go a long way in filling the emptiness that was left behind.

Like with the loss of any loved one, you need to move on at a pace that feels comfortable to you. There is no right and wrong to it. You might find comfort in the Rainbow Bridge forum where you can read and share your grief with others who are feeling your particular pain.

Hugs to you!
