Herding behavior

I think Birch might have the most herding behavior of any sheltie I have owned. Diva has quite abit herself

Here is a video I took at the gathering. Chris was taking some dogs to do play with the teeter ball and Birch herded them out, look what he does with Diva and them kept them together at the teeterball. He spent a great deal of the day circling groups of people and dogs. It was amazing. I need to get some sheep I think.

Hehe....I've already promised Riley I'd get him some Shetland sheep when we have a house with enough land (and zoned for them).

Birch definitely has the drive for herding (he so reminds me of Riley!!)

I think I noticed it more on another video I saw....maybe it was on Michele's FB page (?).....but Birch was crazy herding for sure! And Diva was controlling the whole behaviour. It was too funny to watch.

I think what I found most funny about this video though was you trying to get the dogs to play with the thether ball.

Sometimes I'll introduce a new toy to my dogs and they look at me as if I'm nuts! You want me to do what?????

It would be great to get him Herding Instinct Tested!

We are fortunate that we have about 4 venue's close enough to go to a herding clinic, take a lesson or just go for sheeppy fun days.

Wish you didn't live so darn far, Justus would love to invite Birch, Sca and Cran for dogs day out at the farm!

just need to combine with other fun things and we'll come to Atlanta......

I love the way Birch circles all of them at the end. He's 'penned' them, I think.
Olive says 'good job, Birch'!
