Hi :) from Kenai & Allie

Welcome from another Houstonian! Well technically I'm in Spring/The Woodlands, but it's easier just to say the closest Metropolitan area. My "puppy" is a little over a year older than yours. She's 17 months now. Kenai is very cute!

Tabitha- yayy!!! Where at in Texas?! I'm in Houston but lived in the Hill Country for a few years, love it. He's about the size of a Pom right now, and I'd prefer him to get bigger; hey, if he doesn't, I love him to death. No matter what :) lol

Kagzigian- thank you!!!! :)

Jess041- yay!!! I'm actually in Clear Lake but totally agree on the Houston thing lol. Loving this heat yet? :p Hehe. Awe I love how close they are in age! Maybe we can hit up the giant dog park I keep reason about near downtown!! It's around 7 acres I believe- outdoor AND indoor (thank goodness lol). Do you know of any Sheltie meet ups in Houston?!

I currently live in Lubbock but was born in Houston. I don't claim the place as my home town though. My home town is in the country, outside of Rosenberg were I spent the best parts of my childhood. A pom size sheltie is pretty common. He's not undersized just little. Good luck with your furkid!

PS You can't help it if you want him bigger, your a Texan, TRUE Texans think BIG!

I don't know of any official sheltie meet ups but we run into a few here and there at the dog park near me (barely an acre) and our good friend from flyball has 2. She's really been helping give tips about teaching shelties flyball. The picture from this post http://sheltieforums.com/showthread.php?t=18395 was taken at Millie Bush Bark Park near my parents' house on Memorial Day. It's 13 acres and has 2 ponds.. but I warn you, my dog likes to swim and get very dirty. She learned to enjoy water last summer because of the heat :wink2:. I haven't heard of an indoor dog park.. but I would be willing to check it out!

Also, wanted to mention, we'll be at the Reliant Dog Show in July, it's the 19th-21st if your interested in checking it out one of the days. We will be there doing flyball, but they have lots of stuff to check out. If you're not familiar with it, they have conformation, agility, obedience, flyball, disc dog and freestyle demos, and more. And they have a ton of vendors. You can bring your dog, even if he's not competing.
