Hi from Malaysia!

Hi and welcome to you and the very handsome Orion. I love your photos, particuarly the action ones!

Bi blues are unusual in the UK. It's a pity as they are really striking:smile2:

Welcome to Sheltie Nation, Hazel and Orion -- such a glorious merle!! We have members from Singapore -- not too far!!! :wink2:

Oh Welcome to THE Nation, Orion is a very good looking dog, wow :)
I loved the photos, and like earlier already mentioned he is grown so much!!!

Thanks! Bi blues are rare here too. So rare I had to import him. That's how crazy I am about bi blues.

Thanks. He's full of love. Can't imagine any other soulmate. I love all shelties too, they're such an endearing breed. Love blues with lots of white too. :wink2:
I have a good friend who's a photographer, therefore the great shots. She's a big sheltie fan too. These were taken with a Nikon D700.

Welcome to sheltie nation!

I see why you are in awe over bi-blues. Orion is gorgeous. I love shelties in all colors, but I love blues with lots of white.

You have some great shots of Orion. DSLR?

Thank you everyone for the lovely comments. I eat, breathe and sleep, Orion. Luckily I work from home, so we spend lots of quality time together.
Shelties aren't a popular breed in Malaysia, and bi blues are so rare, I think there's less than 3 in the whole country! Orion was a direct import, which was a pricey and tedious experience. I'm hoping to get another blue by next June. Hoping the breeder can have one just as lovely as Orion. [fingers crossed] Otherwise I may have to look elsewhere...
My only regret is that he's a little oversized (he's 18" from the withers already), so no showing for this gorgeous boy. So will try for agility in 6 months time - he's doing obedience now.

Again, I'm so happy to be sharing about Orion with all of you and look forward to learning more here. [hugs]

I've uploaded more photos (taken at the same location) and some baby photos): http://www.flickr.com/photos/55136768@N02/5186877116/

Welcome to the forum. I love bi blues. But don't think shelties come in a bad color. Your boy is very handsome and I love his name.

Here is my bi blue. Her name is Ember and she is quite a character. She thinks her name is "my aren't you cute':smile2: She doesn't know it yet but I have a blue merle puppy coming home next week who is going to give her a run for her money.

Ember is beautiful. I agree - all sheltie colors are great but I just happen to love bi-blues more. :wink2:

You're so lucky to have so many shelties. I'm only allowed a maximum of 2 as my hubby won't allow more. Sigh. So the next one I'm getting will still be a bi blue...

You definitely have come to the right place! There is never a bad looking Sheltie, lol.. but yours really is a looker, for sure
Also many of us LOVE agility and/or obedience or rally-o... We have different experienced handlers and different levels of trial experience but without a doubt this is a most supportive bunch :) I would have never started Agility if it wasn't for this Forum :) Made me think maybe I COULD try it and see how it goes... Toffee and I have been hooked ever since...

Thanks. Orion hates car rides so getting him to obedience class is usually a pain. I think car rides will always be stressful for him.
He's been very responsive to training but only when he's alone with me. When he's at class, with 10 other dogs there, he goes berserk - whimpering, tugging, jumping - you name it. The trainer tells me that he needs to be socialized more but I don't think there's ever enough socialization for this boy, he's always on the look out for another dog to initiate play with. Or is it because he's desperately wanting a canine friend? How will I ever graduate to agility with him always bouncing off at the nearest dog? Advice would be greatly appreciated. :smile2: (Should I be moving this into the behavior thread?)
