Hi From Missouri!

Hi Jessi,

I am so glad you joined the forum.

I have 3 shelties that I show in obedience and agility . Though my oldest Justice who turns 9 next month is semi retired. I just finished my UDX on my bi blue Ember and Diva, my youngster, just got her first 2 legs for her AKC CD. I also co own 2 shelties that live elsewhere and do conformation, Jamie 1yr and Porter 8 months(Diva's son). Porter is also learning obedience and will do agility down the line.

I think we have similar training styles, though I have drabbled in clicker more as of late. I use alot of luring, shaping and food as well as the occasionial correction. Though most of my corrections tend to be verbal. So not how I used to train pre shelties.

Look forward to hearing more about your pack

Howdy

Hi K9 Queen,
I read your Hi post and realized how threadbare my own was. Will try to do better. Am glad to be on this site, and now you are no longer the newest kid on the block.

Justice's Mom, Huge Congratulations on the UDX! I hope to achieve the same with Jinx. ;) I know what you mean about the training being different than it used to. I started out with a Great Pyr and it was the old crank and yank back then. She hated the work and I only showed her once (173! lol) but then swung the pendulum the other way after attending a Patty Ruzzo seminar and went to only cookies, no leash or collar! Now I've happily swung to the middle (though slightly more to the lure/cookie/marker side) and have a lot more fun training now with better results to boot :) I put a UD on my GSD Achielles and had such a fun time but never went back for a UDX, it is SO expensive!

I can't wait to talk to you and everyone, more on our obedience trials and tribulations! lol

Cash & Chris, Thanks for the welcome! :biggrin2:

Corbin, Great! Well, as you can see, I went with the membership :biggrin2: I'll probably still like to Photobucket but I wanted Jinx as my avatar! lol

Henry, I liked your introduction and thought it was very cute! :) Thanks for relieving me of the new kid status ;)
