Hi Julie!!
Congratulations for your first dog and a sheltie!!! It's fantastic. I'm sure you enjoy it very much.
I think that shelties have tendency to bark, but don't worry because I know shelties that don't bark. They exist!!!!!
My breeder has some shelties, afghans and salukis and all they are very quiet and only bark a few times.
Dido, my sheltie, is 5 months old and she doesn't bark. I hope she will be like her parents.

He visited upstate NY with my sister and I this weekend... 6hrs one way! He is an excellent car rider. Rode on her lap the entire way and just chilled out :smile2:
