Hip popped back in then legs binded.... Is that right way?

Hi I am new and I have been reading the boards to find out about hip dysphasia. My sheltie is 12 years old and her hip popped out of socket. They did get back in but the binded her legs together to keep hips in place. Afterwards and spending 1200.00 they said it may not work and she may need the surgery. I am crushed and feel taken advantage of. Anyone have experience with this? All the pictures I see on the internet show the leg and foot pulled up. Thanks :)

I am so sorry to hear that your pup is hurting. :(

I have seen one leg propped up as you describe.

I would get a second and third opinion before I would go to surgery!

The cost of $1,200 seem high to me for only the taping of her legs.
Even if they did xrays... still seems high.

Just my opinion... I am no expert. Hope she gets better soon. :fl:hugs

Our vet is an orthopedic vet as well. You might consider taking her to an orthopedic vet........I would, if I were you.

Keeping her in my prayers. Please update us on her, when you can. Thanks.
