Holistic Flea and Tick repellant

Interesting, I haven't found any fleas on Sadie since using it. I've also found that it keeps the flies away too.

I've been using the squeeze on, it didn't come in a bottle so I wonder if you're using a slightly different product.

Is it possible that there were fleas before and that the Nature's Guardian is causing them to jump off?.

If its not working for you and your dog has fleas, go back to your regular flea medication.

We're on Month Five of using this product and not a flea in sight. We've also seen fewer ticks on Pixie than on my other two who are still on Advantix and Frontline. I use the spot on (little squeeze tube) for 15 pounds or less, even though mine weigh 20 - 22 pounds. This seems more than sufficient.

Just a note to all...I also found this product just this week on the Cherrybrook website for an astounding $7 and change! Cheapest of anywhere!! It's called Natural Defense but it's exactly the same thing. So if you use it, stock up! Here's the link:

Have you tried treating your yard??

I bought a bottle of natures guardian and my furkids got fleas. I wonder how you all were using this. Maybe operator error. It smells great but Fleas yikes. I havent found ticks though. Im thinking after this maybe going back to my regular flea product. I now have 4 angry dogs that I spent hours bathing and flea hunting.
I know Im alittle OCD but I got one on me in bed last night. They all are clean and beautiful but im still itchy. lol any sugesstions or should I just get my regular flea med?:o

That's what I do . Every year at the beginning of Spring , once everything is thawed out I treat my yard with a granule that is placed all over the lawn just prior to Rain. once the rain comes and washes it into the ground, that's that. I do half of the yard at a time. Because the animals have to stay off until it dries.I have been doing this since my first dog Tasha , then Tasha and Jewel and Now Kia . Have not had any problems yet. Thank God. Because I'm allergic too fleas.
So I use this remedy along with the sargents and all is well.

Thankfully, I haven't had to worry about this with Ariel. Yet.

My first Sheltie was a tick magnet and even Frontline didn't work very well.
I'm sure it didn't help a whole lot, but I always mixed some Avon Skin-So-Soft bath oil in with the water I used to spray her when she was brushed every day.

I bought some of the diatamaceous earth to treat my yard with. This year, tick season is over, and so far no fleas, but since there are so many stray cats around here, I don't want to take a chance.

Well I now realize I was using the spray and you all were using the tubes for the neck. I found some and I am trying them . So far so good! Its cheaper and healthy for my kids which are both a plus!!! Boy it has sure been a bad week between fleas and loose stools! What next....maybe shouldnt say that....might of jinxed myself..:rolleyes2:Hope you all are doing well!!!

I use this product on Sophie too. I tried it for the first time last month and so far I am more than satisfied. The same company also makes a shampoo bath, it's got the same ingredients as the spot on. You leave it on the skin for 5 minutes when you give the dog a bath. I wonder if you use that product, do you still use the spot on?

Sadie has been doing really well on the Seargent's. The ticks aren't as bad now and its been doing a great job of repelling fleas and even flies. I keep hitting poor Milo's head to kill the flies, as my parent's haven't treated him with anything. The only draw back still is that she hates the smell.

She goes through a 24 hour period where she paces and whines. I try to put it on her when she can be outside a lot and isn't alone. If she has to be crated I point a fan at her in hopes of dissipating the smell a bit.

i know that this is an old thread, but I still wanted to share my experience with natures guardian.

didnt work for any of my dogs what so ever. Smelled good, but it was strong. The smell stayed strong for a few days. It made them VERY greasy and it turns any white to yellow. The dogs were anxious when I put it on them. The smell was just too strong. I did not see any decrease in fleas what so ever.

I take a cotton rope and soak it in alcohol, citronella oil, lavender, clary sage, and peppermint out over night. Let it completly dry, and them I have an all natural flea collar. on my dogs that did help a little.

Here on the KY/TN border frontline, or advantage does not even work anymore. It does cut the fleas in half. But I will not use a chemical on my dog that could hurt him and he will STILL have fleas. If you want flea protection here, you have to use Comfortis. It actually works. However Ruckus had an reaction so he cannot use it. I do use it on Lynn tho with no ill effects.

I've been using Nature's Guardian all summer now and am happy with the results. Sadie hasn't had one single flea on her and only the occasional tick. I found that it also effectively repels mosquitoes and biting flies.

The only draw back is that it makes her anxious, but it only lasts one day. I've started waiting for weekends to put it on her, so that she's not alone or crated when she's feeling anxious, which seems to help her cope.

The smell is only strong for 1-2 days.
