Garlic can thin a dog's blood and is toxic in large amounts, but in small amounts it is ok and supposedly acts against fleas/ticks (they don't like garlicky blood?).
I think that the most that is on the recipes that I have looked at, the max is 2 Tablespoons or 2 teaspoons of dried. I suppose if that is all that there is in the whole recipe, then it should be fine. Am I correct to say that???
Thank you so much for all the responses. It is much appreciated! I know that my Dutchess will thank you for it too once I get her! lol
I do a lot of preparing homemade treats and food for my pup. You have to give your dog 3heads/ not cloves but whole heads/ of garlic daily for several weeks to cause minimal blood changes. In small doses garlic is very helpful and has multiple use- antifugal, antibacterial, immunestimulating, nd protective from fleas/ parasites
Thank you so much for the info. I have heard several things yet they all lead to the same thing. Garlic is beneficial as long as it is in small doses. I really appreciate the info. It really helps me to prepare for my little girl.
I have gotten so much good information from here!! You are all such a blessing for those of us who are new to the sight and are new to the sheltie world of fur kids!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
