Hoping reverse psychology will work

Zak just loves to grab pillows and a t-shirt of mine if it sits on the floor to long. He will chew on the pillows and had chewed on 2 pillow shams. He grabbed a t-shrit of mine that I put on the closet floor till I could get it into the hamper in the garage.
I noticed he runs with it and if I pay no attetion to him he leaves it alone.So I gave him the t-shirt and he will grab it run with it and ignore it. The only reason he does not get to be loose when we leave is this fabric obsession he has. How do I cure it? I have never had this with any other sheltie.
 
Zak will out-grow it, believe me he will. Lucky liked to chew my comforters.

He would nibble these tiny little holes where they became big holes. I think on this board there are plenty of us where they loved socks. Lady isn't a chewer, she was a digger.

I just kept after him NO with a stern voice, and he FINALLY stopped. Maybe if you left that T on the floor again, then sprayed bitter apple on it he would stop. My two hate bitter apple, some don't mind it, but it might be worth a try. I hear ya its like you have to have eyes in the back of your head. Like having a toddler in the house.

Maybe somebody else can come up with some creative ideas, I know kongs, treats have been mentioned.
 
The only way I can stop Emma from getting any dirty laundry is to put it right away in the hamper and the hamper has to have a lid on it. Dad has to put the socks he wears at night up on the post on his bed. If he puts them on the shelf in the nichtstand and we forget the gate across the door, she will grab them and run.

This is the only I can stop Diva too. She will sneak off with Tshirts and underwear and chew them up. Luckily she doesn't eat them just chews them up.

Toffee used to have a sock obsession, and his blankets, and all have chewed little holes in them...

I had told him no socks, but it was too cute when I always woke up to find he had dragged socks all over the flat, lol. I did end up discouraging it just by saying no, whenever I SAW him with a sock or blanket.. and he totally outgrew it. Now he's two and he hasn't chewed at anything like that for about 8 months, I'd say.
 
Zak is doing well not chewing on the t-shirt. He just carries it and plays with it. He likes to eat what he chews so I want him to hopefully get over this fabric thing soon. I have given him Kongs but he left huge gouges on them so he gets bully sticks or other hard bones, and a rawhide with supervision.
