Jesse has never made a sound when he needs to go potty. He just stands at the door and hopes I'll notice him...no matter where I am in the house. If I don't react as I should, he'll come and stare at me (with that sheltie stare) until I get the message.
We did the bells for a little. It did teach her to tell us when she had to go out. The bells became very annoying so we took them down. Now she will look at you and chatter her teeth when she has to go out. If you ignor her (or are sleeping on the sofa) she wil, stand on top of you until you wake up and take her out. If you fall asleep watching tv you will I guarantee you will be woke up with a 25lb sheltie standing on you chattering in your face at 10pm.
A little while ago I was sitting here and missed where she was. About that moment I heard a small yip. She was sitting there by the door. As soon as I let her out she went right away. I guess if she has to go really bad she will make a sound. It's almost like going on the floor is the worst thing in the world. You'd think we beat her or something. The most she would get is a "Bad Girl". She loves being called "Good Girl"
