Hi!
I am new to the boards here, but loving reading everything!!
Currently, I am owned by 3 Shelties named Timmy, Dash & Bandit...lost my Angel Copper 7 months ago now.
But, our newest addition, is 3.5 year old Bandit. He is lightning fast and so smart! He came from a bad situation, but is really coming out of his shell and trusts us. I am working on hand signals w/ him b/c he won't listen to verbal commands -- they were once used against him as abuse.
I am also trying to find "alternate" verbal cues he'll respond to, other than the traditional sit, come, etc. Once we get him to trust 1000% and not be skittish (he has made huge progress in 5 months here) I know he'll be an ace at agility. Anyone have suggestions on how I start? He is terrified of the clicker noise, too.
Where would I begin w/ a dog who does not have any fear issues? 3 may be the number of dogs we have now, but not furever. Timmy is 10 and Dash is 11, so i can't see starting agility / them now. Are there size rules in Sheltie agility? Timmy and Dash are rather tall Shelties...
Thanks!!
