Brodie is confident, friendly, not shy, not overly exuberant - middle of the road - never had any issues. He tends to go crazy over larger dogs - when he was in puppy class his favorite was a 90 lb great dane puppy. His best friend in Rally is a Portugese Podengo Poqueno and in Agility it is a massive standard poodle.
Funny, though, he has met tons of dogs, is in class with lots of dogs, but this week while walking, we stopped to chat with a neighbor. We had Brodie on a 5 or 6 foot slip lead, they had Charlie, a puppy but almost Brodie height but about half his girth, on a 15 foot lead bu pulled back some. Charlie is UBER hyper, jumping, barking, biting at me. Brodie met him as usual but then when Charlie was quite hyper, stayed back a bit but sort of positioned himself at angle in front of my right side but off a bit. For the first time ever, as Charlie, jumped and yapped in his uber excitement over me attempting to pet him, Brodie growled, barked, lunged and put that pup in his place! Like he was reprimanding him! I hope my neighbors did not think Brodie was being mean, not sure he has a mean bone in his body.
