Just thought it would be fun to find out how long:
Did it take your sheltie to go up and down stairs with confidence and no mistakes along the way? - Meggie had never seen stairs until we moved up here with my dad. She was already 9 months old, but it took her about 2 minutes to figure them out. She loves the play catch on the stairs.
How soon before your sheltie was barking when someone came to the door??
Meggie never barked at the doorbell before we moved here. My dad's dog goes bonkers when the door bell rings and now Meggie does too.
How long before a leash was no longer needed???
Here in NY, I still keep Meggie on a leash when she is not in a fenced area. My dad's house is on a busy street. At home, I live on a quiet street on which only my neighbors drive. There is no through traffic. Meggie can be off leash there and responds to commands the majority of the time.
