Here is one recipe for a joyful day of remembrance:
1. Write Pudding a poem or a letter, telling her how very wonderful it was to share life with her. Tell her how she inspired your to bring Precious into your life. Sign it and put Precious' paw print on it, too.
2. Buy several helium filled balloons.
3. Pack a lovely picnic, with goodies for Precious, too.
4. You and Precious -- picnic, poem, and balloons in hand -- head for a lovely park or lake -- some place beautiful that you love.
5. Tie the poems to the balloons, pop some champagne or your beverage of choice. You and Precious toast Pudding, release the balloons, and watch their message of love sail into the blue. Maybe a little prayer of thanks for Pudding and Precious can accompany it.
6. Then enjoy your scrumptious picnic with Precious. It may be flavored with a few tears, but the greatest seasoning will be beautiful.
Thank you so so much everyone, I've enjoyed silently reading and rereading everyone's very supportive and insightful replies.
Thank you Chris for that wonderful suggestion specifically, reading that truly brought tears to my eyes... I'd definitely love to try this one time. I love the idea of going out somewhere to enjoy the weather and spend it with Precious, out on a hike location or what not... That is precisely what I do when I need time to think, go on a long walk with my dogs. I don`t think I`d be able to get myself out to go on the day of, but it`d definitely be something I`ll look into setting up, a small get away so I can spend a day to think about my dogs.
Though unfortunately, as the other opposite that was also mentioned a lot, I have to admit, I am the type that "doesn't like to deal with it". Which is why I go out on these walks in solitude. Like Tofupup (I'm so sorry, it was difficult to read your story as well as It was like I could have written it), the day, number, hour, and time, what not, is a bit daunting for me as I keep checking the calendar and hoping when 'this' will pass, it seems like a struggle just to get by. You said it perfectly for me where I'm not a place either where all my memories are good, because this loss isn't something I have been able to easily accept. If it was her time to go, if this was expected, if I had time to decide, maybe it could have made my feelings a little bit different... But as of still, I feel like she was ripped away from me, all of this was an unexpected tornado disaster, that this was a very tragic accident that wasn`t suppose to happen........... I`ve already done the looking through storages of photos, looking through all of her you tube videos, looking through all her doggy forms and vet bills and belongings.... I so badly wish I had ashes to remember her by, I didn't know what to do with her so thought she would be better of resting with other doggies. Oh how I miss her and wish I could have spread her ashes in a wonderful favorite location or hers........
So this is definitely how I feel so far... 2 more weeks to go. So far, I'm actually in the middle of planning to go away on a trip, one that will span over the course of this day and my birthday. I kind of am feeling a bit suffocated with my thoughts and feel like I need to get away. And I feel like an hour, two, three hour drive just isn't going to cut it. Luckily my brother will be home to look after Precious while I'm gone. Though nothing is definitely finalized just yet, it was the only way I could find myself dealing with my insecurities. I'm a runner. I like to deal with my issues by pretending they never happened. This may be bad coping skills, which is why I'm here asking everyone...... but I get through the day better if I have things to be doing (again, like Tofupup), am so busy that I myself don't have a moment to think other thoughts, to be so tired, physically exhausted to do anyhting else but sleep.... All in all, this is the main reason why I'm thinking of a trip away to really be busy with something else totally, as a way of passing over this and perhaps dealing with it when it's a bit easier too unreleated to August. And instead, perhaps go on that walk that Chris suggested once I've came back and high emotions have died down a bit..... I'd love to continue to read people's responses if anyone had. I just wanted to let everyone know where I was with my thought process. It's taken me a while to write a reply out but mmm Thank you to each and every one of you for replying to me <3
