My husband, Lee, wrote this about Oreo:

Young Dognado

I went all the way to Texas
Returning with a bundle
Of hair and energy utilizing
His sharp little teeth
Gnawing on my heart
And unauthorized wires

A black and white tornado
Spinning his puppy love
All thru my world
Once unshredable
Now mere flotsam and jetsam
Remnants of a quieter past

The older dog and cat
Conspiring convinced
That this baby irritaton
Will vaporize at noon
But time has foiled
The master plan
He's still there
Plundering

Defying all reason
How can an adorable slumber
Wreck such comprehensive
Havoc on my skin?
As his inborn herding
And motion triggers
My feet to panic
From unrelenting
Affection

U will grow up
U will grow old
And join us on
The memory stack
But for now
Stay a baby
Chew on my beard
So I can grow
More love
For my black and white
Young dognado

What a great, and heartfelt poem! Doesn't sound like you had to talk him into the puppy (although I know you worked on him for a while in reality!) :winkgrin: :lol:
Obviously Oreo has worked his Sheltie magic...
 
I loved the part about gnawing on unauthorized wire-- so well I know about that. Half our exposed power cords have had to repaired, some were even plugged in when the chewing started and yelp and jump away at the crime scene when a live wire was breached. We were all lucky it was no more than a yelp. Now as much as possible wires have been hidden away.
