I know I said it on Facebook, but you guys look awesome! His 2o2o looks super good and he seems very confident. Nice job!

One tiny little thing I'd mention is that in the future, I'd try to find a way to run the course that doesn't involve running straight past the weave poles. Our pups are pretty smart and I think they start to think that those are just things they run past if they want/are going to fast/etc. When it comes to training them, you could have a harder time building value for them if Cruz is used to ignoring them.

I'd have to agree with that.

Ah yes, our trainer commented on that as well. I think next time I will tug with him down the line of weaves as if the course is done then restart again after. Weaves seem difficult enough to train.. don't need them to be any harder!!

when we are skipping an obstacle, we either start after it or do something that will give us another path besides that obstacle.....

What a bouncy, happy Sheltie!! I love his enthusiasm. I agree about the poles - another suggestion is if you need to run by them, front cross before them so that you're between him and the poles. That way you're not "breaking any rules" and he's technically not running by them!! You two look great! And he is SO adorable. That darn chute...my boy volunteered on his own to go through a chute once in class when I took my eyes off him and since then, he seems to really enjoy it. But every once in awhile, he decides he doesn't want to go through it. SIGH. It's a learning curve!

Our new chute issues are my fault. I rear crossed him going into a chute a couple days before this event and he popped out because he saw me running behind him.. hasn't wanted to do it on his own since. Oops on my part, but we will get it sorted out!
