Hi all, I'm just so excited to find Sandstorms great grandfather on the sires side! I was going through the website and thought the name looked familiar, sure enough, there he was! He is CH Ozark City Slicker. I'm going to research more- I've got all the pedigree up to great grandparents. Just had to share!

That's great! I have a whole file full of Sheltie Relatives1
BPIG Ch Shelhaven Gladiator
Am Ch Ozark Crest City Slicker ROM x BIS BISS BPIS Am/Can Ch Laureate City Angel ROMC

Actually , I read it wrong on the site, (above, if you can see it) the pic of the dog on the Shellhaven site is not of City Slicker, it is of an offspring- so it is Sandstorms uncle! LOL!! I have seen pics of the parents and grandparents, NONE of them as tall as SS, obviously, they are dogs who have won championships. Not that I really cared about that, but it's nice to know that he comes from good lines like this. It is fun to research this stuff.

Uncle, cousin, nephew, grandparent......they are all inter-related....

Bacca's got City Slicker somewhere in his lineage - as I'm sure a number of our pups do on this forum. Shelhaven has been quite "out there" with their studs. Alot of the Laureate line, for example is twined with Shelhaven.

We should have a family tree party for them! My father did that for us once, I'm distantly related to actor Micky Rourke. He was once very cute.
I know, off topic

Once I looked at a website for us all to post our geneologies of our pups. Like a family tree website. My eyes started to spin. There was no easy way to do this for the pups only on this stie.

I've not given up though. I still think its doable but its beyond me at the moment.

I appreciate your joy too! I am a pedigree fanatic:razz: but I expecially love finding pictures of those sheltie relatives who I have not ever seen or who hav passed on. I too have a file full of relatives. Revel's family in particular do all have a very striking resemblence to one another!

That would be daunting! Fun though!

Facebook had some kind of family tree site which I started to look at. What was neat about it was because it was open, you could paste yourself into the tree.

I never really investigated it further, but I always thought it had possibilities for our forum.

Of course, its a whole lot different with dogs than people. Our grandsires did not sire 100 progeny in their lifetime (at least that that we know about), so trying to tie the tangled webs of our grandsires and granddames might be beyond any free site.

I wish I was a computer programmer......

I think its great to learn the lines. The learning process for me is the in-breeding, who is doing what, and how many times are they using the bitch within those lines or the sire, including the grandparents.

I have a number of pictures of the dogs in Lady's line, and some in Lucky. From the posts, there are a number of shelties from the ol' days in this breed.
Its a shame I get more involved in my shelties family tree then my own. FUN
