I hate fleas...

i was late last month givingmy daisy her frontline plus..i realized this when inoticed her itching and biting herself...after appling it it took atleast 3 days before i noticed she wasnt itching as much and within a week she was all cleared up and has been since then...so give it a chance itwill work just takes a week or so.

If you have to give a flea medicine a week or so to work it kind of makes me wonder how good it is!

We use revolution here,I have for the last 1-1/2 yrs. Although previously before using the product,I did not treat specifically for fleas.As I never had a problem.

I guess my thought was,why treat or apply something when you don't have the problem to begin with.

As you know Revolution treats not only fleas,ticks,but also ear mites,& a heartworm all in one.It's convienance for me. Not everyone has luck with the Revolution,from what I understand,but 95% of the cases that test positive for heartworm while using the product is because of improper application.Especially for the long haired dog.

These guys here always test negative,so I know it is working.

I've run into problems with frontline resistant fleas. I have had to switch to using Vectra 3D, as it was the only thing to get rid of the frontline resistant fleas this past year.

I can't find any more fleas on Daisy but she still scratching her neck area. I use a flea comb and cant find any fleas. What you think this could be? Do dog just scratch a itch or is it flea? Daisy scratches pretty often.
Daisy also got a new collar but I don't think its the collar that is bugging her.

Check her ears - sometimes wax build up will cause scratching. It did with Noah. With Emma, if there are mats, she will scratch. Liam scratched because he didn't like the collar. He didn't wear one until I got him three weeks ago.

When Smudge had his demodex mange he had to go through a serious of mange dips. That meant a bath every two weeks, and it dried his skin out. He had to do it though. He would itch, lick, and scratch.

Maybe dry skin? Maybe not from too many baths, but maybe just in general?

Uhh... I wouldn't. These pesticides by themselves can cause seizures, combining them in such a short time is not going to help. The Capstar is safe to use whenever.

Well, I took my vet tech's word and used K9 Advantix last night. I'm not sure if it'll spread well (as I put it on after a bath - even though I saw instructions stating to bathe first). My hubby is home with Miko all day and Koji is at daycare all day (another reason for putting on the stuff). So, either way, we'll know if there are any seizures.

Why would you think Miko or Koji would have a seizure? I used K9 Advantix for many years and Stitch and my gf's dog Melanie does fine on it.

I don't think it's just using the K9 Advantix, but using the Frontline almost at the same time.

If your vet tech said it was ok though I wouldn't worry about.

So I was just saying they didn't have seizures and I'd watch for them JIC because I used Frontline Plus on 10/18 and used K9 Advantix on 10/24.
