I need a raincoat for Claussen and Little Bear

Sorry, but I don't agree. Their coats are made for harsher weather, but I don't believe their temperaments were bred to enjoy being wet. They'll do what their owner wants because their willing to please, but most shelties do not like being wet.
Bailey clearly doesn't like the rain, but she will tolerate it. She'll go out in the rain, do her business and do anything else I ask of her, but she is constantly shaking water off her fur, walking around puddles and clearly wants to go back inside as soon as possible. Once inside, she starts rubbing against the walls & couch and rolling on the carpet.
But you are right, making Bailey wear a rain coat is definitely a convenience for me. Sorry, but I don't like the wet dog smell and I don't like my dog rubbing her wet fur all over my apartment. Yes, her coat repels water, but when it's heavy raining, even toweling her off does not completely dry her. She is still damp and reeks of wet dog.
While wearing a raincoat that takes two and a half seconds to put on & take off, 3/4 of Bailey's fur is completely dry, the wet dog smell isn't as pungent and my furniture is not covered in wet Bailey fur. The good thing is Bailey doesn't mind wearing the rain coat and might I add, she looks adorable.
Well, I knew this would not be a popular position.
I totally get if you are taking your dogs for big hikes or walking in salted streets....by all means, protect yourselfs and the dogs.
But for the regular dog walker, I think its wrong to cater to wimpy dog syndrome. You just must things more difficult for you and your dog in the long run.
A towel next to the door is good enough. I've seen my dogs dunked in the river and their undercoats were still dry.
We talk alot on the forum about the virtues of this breed and how to avoid it getting bred out. One of the virtues is the wonderful double-coat that protects them from weather.
One of the less desirable features is the "skittishness". I think there is a tendency to cater too much this trait. We laugh about our "diva's".
Personally, I think it would be good to breed a little more toughness into the breed.

Petco had the right size raincoats for our shelties. I say HAD becuse its raining cats & dogs today and the doggie raincoats are sold out. Oliver and Calypso hate the rain (Shelties are made of sugar 'ya know). Calypso will swim, run through sprinklers and take a bath, no problem. But rain, heck no! Oliver dislikes the rain so much he even had his veterinarian holding an umbrella over him when he needed to go potty after a surgery. I think it's the plops of rain on their cute little faces that seem to annoy them. Anyway, off to another store and I'll just cut and sew a bit!
I watched several youtubes with people taking thrift baby clothes and converting them to fashionable dog clothing. I bet you could get a baby size jacket and make something pretty easily. When Savannah was a puppy. I remade a Teddy Ruxpin outfit for her. It was the fleece lined vest.

We have Guardian Gear from Amazon. They have to be washed and aired out when arrive though (plastic smell). We use them to prevent licking of wounds or surgical sites or bandages. We also use them when traveling as Melli drools like crazy. I guess they would work in the rain too.
