I need to vent a little

It velcro closes, so treats do not fall out when you throw it. The dog has to pull apart the velcro to get the treats out. It opens like a flower, and you can close it very loosely at first to teach your dog how to pull it apart, then close it more tightly to use during training so the treats do not fall out. Clean Run sells them.

Well, the 'I'm going to spill my food and not eat' phase lasted about seven days which included two days of kibble for training treats. Friday he started eating properly again; five days after we started playing hardball with taking the food away. There were a few days of I'll eat in the morning but not at night before he started eating two full meals again.

Thanks for the encouragement to do what I knew I had to do. It's very easy to tell others what to do but so hard when it's your own pup.

He is still intact right? Any chance there was an inseason girl in the area? Timing in about right

Yes, he's still intact (and hopefully I'll be able to deal with him being intact until he's 18 months). I don't believe there are any in season girls around us because when we take him out to do his business he's not distracted. He's not distracted in classes either.

He was at Edan and CJ's breeder's house while we were on vacation and one of her bitches had pups about 12 weeks ago; it would have been 10 weeks when he was there. None of her other bitches were in season. The eating problems started just before we went on vacation though. The spilling his food started a few days after we returned.
