I think Gavin needs to loose a few....

I cut back his food when he got hurt 3 years ago and he lost weight, so I put it back to where it was before.
He eats the same amount as he did when he was younger, and it's taken him until now to get a little tubby.
It is mostly his shape, he doesn't feel any heavier when I pick him up.
He is lumpier with all his fatty deposits getting bigger, too, so that could be a big part of it.

Guess I need to cut his food back a bit; he gets 1.5-2 cups of kibble a day. I never measured to exact cause I never needed to before!

I wonder if they redistribute their weight as they get older...I remember with Riley I'd thought he'd lost weight (mostly because I could feel his ribs) but when we weighed him at the vet his weight was the same as before. The vet then commented that he must've redistributed it, so probably an age thing.

Our vet wants Brodie to lose a bit. Not sure how big Gavin is - Brodie is 15 1/2 inches at his shoulder and weighed 26 lbs 12 oz at his checkup - she wants him in the 25 lb range. He only gets a cup a day of kibble mixed in with Green beans, but he gets TONS of treats with all the training we do. Not sure how I can tell my boy he needs to cut back on treats....

Gavin is 18 1/2!
he has mostly been around 35lbs.
when he was undergoing radiation he fell to under 30 and he was way too skinny :(
we fixed that and he is still around 35 last we were at the vet

Minnie now 5½ y
is 16,9 inch and weighs 25.23 - my vet say she is fine
she get 220 gr. kibble a day and few tiny pieces of dried bread besides
