I'm wrapped around her finger when...

Really?! The second I give in, Cleo is throwing herself at me to get into my lap. If I had company at my house, they would probably think I ignore her all the time (which is the complete opposite). So no encouragement needed for me.

My moms bichon is like that. Never met a stranger and has no interest in sitting on furniture if there's a chance of a lap and no interest in standing near you if he can be held instead.

I'll admit he's a little overwhelming at times.

Honey will cuddle up beside me at night now, and she'll lay near me, either at my feet or on the back, if I'm on the couch, but the only time I get a lap puppy is if I have food to offer her.

Lol, I fully support giving into any action that encourages cuddling from shelties.

In order to encourage Honey to sit on my lap I'll grab a piece of cheese or a cookie and bribe her.

Have you ever held one end of a bully stick or some other chewy so they stay in your lap and it's easier for them to chew? I know I have.

When it gets low enough that I'm worried Honey will just swallow it I do. Sticky and gross and totally worth it!
