I'm so sorry. I went through this with my sable boy 1.5 years ago with recurrent pancreatitis. He had a bloody pleural effusion, and his hematocrit was 1/3 normal. I had to euthanize him that night. He was perfectly fine and happy the morning before, but by the afternoon he was falling down in pain and couldn't get up.
It's never easy, but we try to give them a good life, and an easy transition to a good death. They are our children after all!
