Indie has left us

I'm so sorry. I went through this with my sable boy 1.5 years ago with recurrent pancreatitis. He had a bloody pleural effusion, and his hematocrit was 1/3 normal. I had to euthanize him that night. He was perfectly fine and happy the morning before, but by the afternoon he was falling down in pain and couldn't get up.

It's never easy, but we try to give them a good life, and an easy transition to a good death. They are our children after all!
 
Oh, I am so sorry... there is nothing harder than having to say goodbye, especially if it is so sudden. :hugs You gave him a wonderful, wonderful life.
 
Thank you all. And I'm also very sorry for your losses. My family is so heartbroken. My toddler (1.5 yrs) loved Indie so much - he'd hug and blow Indie kisses...

I can't accept this at all. I miss him so much. This morning was extra hard as I went back to work and was putting on some makeup... he'd always poke me in the leg and ask for a little massage (bum rub).
 
Losing our furbaby is hard enough, but losing suddenly, without warning is harder still. Many of us at Sheltie Nation have felt this same deep, heart wrenching pain and know that you are in more pain right now than you think you can handle, know that I send my heartfelt thoughts and prayers to you and your family at this most difficult time. :cry: :hugs
 
Gail, I'm so sorry. :cry: My heart is truly breaking for you as I unfortunately, know what you're going though. We lost my first sheltie suddenly at the young age of 8. It is so devastating when it is unexpected.

You gave Indie a life that most dogs dream of and were there for him until the very end. There isn't anything more you could have done. :hugs
 
Is so hard to pass though this, I passed, I know how you feel....

So sorry that things happens suddenly, we lose them in a moment.

The only thing I could tell is that your belove sheltie haven't had a long time pain...and you just has helped Indy to have a soft end.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss of Indie. Keep all of those good memories close to your heart. You will be in my thoughts.
