Interceptor is back

I know, it is SO expensive! My vet didn't want to give me Heartguard though, he said he had a Sheltie patient who reacted to it and didn't want to take the chance

I had to get one dose of HeartGuard for Olive for September. She was fine with it, but she didn't gobble it up like she does the tiny Interceptor pill. The HeartGuard was a chewable and about as big as maybe three pieces of gum (the little sticks, not the big ones). She chewed it and spit it out a bunch of times, but finally ate it all. I had to watch her for about 15 minutes to be sure she got it all. Apparently it's not as 'gourmet' as Interceptor. :biggrin2:

I just finished a box of Heartguard (1 box shared between Edan and CJ since they are the same weight) and both of them devoured the pill. Edan had been spitting out the Interceptor pill. I'll still probably go back to Interceptor when my vet has it available.

news from the source

Found this the other day.
One of the articles mentioned customers being mad with Novartis because it was not available to vets, but still available to Foster and Smith.
Went there and my first choice for 1 years worth was out, however a 6 month supply was available for ~$32, which is currently in the mail.

The new formulation is also mentioned in one of the articles.

Interceptor

I have just been calling all over to try to find Interceptor. Could you post information about how your vet is able to get it? We talked with two of our vets today and were told they didn't know how to get it.
This is really good news!

Mine is ordered through my vet and shipped from a company called Vet Source Home delivery. I hope this helps. As I said it is on autoship, they currently ship one pill per month. I am hoping as more is released I can get 6 mos. supply aat a time.
