Most meds take into consideration age and size of dog. Even heartworm. Indy is a little lighter than Bacca so he has a different dosage.

I just wouldn't want to take the chance that I had the wrong product.

Reputable companies, like 1-800-petmeds, require you to fax or mail them a copy of the prescription from the Vet before sending the medicine to you. (I use to get my Malamute's Rimadyl from 1-800-petmeds before finding out my vet would price match.)

Honestly, I never had a problem with 1-800-petmeds but I still prefer getting the medication directly from my vet.

Sadie + Emily are both given a SENTINEL tablet every month year~round and our veterinarian meets the seriously better online price.

This really is a true 'win win' because that medicine is expen$ive and {like Silaria} our money is going to their much :o loved doctor rather than to an online pet supply company!

My pup got diagnosed with whipworm today (he's 7 months old). I give both my boys Interceptor since they are collie breeds. Interceptor is supposed to help control adult whipworms. I admit that I order my dogs' heartworm medicine online (Allivet.com) to save some money.

I called Novartis to see if they had a product guarantee I spoke to a very nice lady and we talked through everything. She said she could give me a goodwill payment for the fecal test, medicine and also reimbursement for a follow up fecal test. When she asked me where I purchase my Interceptor and I told her, she informed me that they do not sell to internet companies and neither guarantee nor endorse any product sold online; only those sold through a licensed veterinary practice. :dead:

So now I am going to discard any remaining Interceptor I have (waste of money there) and spend more money to get both my boys heartworm tested and then buy more Interceptor so if they are tested positive, Novartis will offer to reimburse some of the expense covered with treatment.

It's my own stupid fault...can't help but to be mad. I sent a letter to Allivet.com, but I'm not sure what I'm expecting to hear...LOL...

There is so much of this on the internet,these medications are not regulated by the FDA,or are not even pure.So this is where this folks are making money.Not sure how they even can package such products,and sell to unsuspecting people.

Back about 6 years ago,there were numerous complaints,class action suits filed over impure Bio-Spot. It was quite frightening how many dogs & cats were affected by these products that were not pure & regulated.

Don't be beating yourself up over this. So long as your babe gets well,and your on the right track now.
You may never hear from this company,then again you may,but they may give you a song & dance.

I've ordered from 1-800-petmeds as well with no problems. Their shipping was really quick, especially considering we're in Canada.
 
Online Meds

I buy my interceptor and K9 Advantix from Entirely Pets and have never had a problem, They call my vet and within 2 days I have my stuff and it is much cheaper than my vets.
 
My vet knows my financial situation and, with Big Dee on three meds a month plus flea/tick and heartworm, it's a burden. Then Gus with normal monthly maintenance meds.

She actually suggested 1-800-petmeds and gave me scripts for everything. I've been using them for about 6 months and have been very pleased with service.
 
My vet will match the best online price for the meds. I'd rather pay my vet than buy online. All I did was request the script so that I could buy online, and he said he was happy to give me the script but was also happy to match the price. All I have to do is bring in the print out of the online price.
